Hormones are screwed up by Antibiotics, causing them to loose their effectiveness. SO that is why so many gals get pregnant after a bout of amoxicillian that they are taking for Strep Throat. AMAZING??? but TRUE ! ! I have a niece today thanks to Anitibiotics. :-) Since you want to avoid pregnancy during the first year ( your most wieght lose period) in order to have enough nutrition for both baby and you. Soo there you go. I hope that answers that question. :-) Love in health, Anita Tucson AZ
Guest guest
I am sure you have gotten plenty of comments with this but i wanted to share my story... First off, the shot <depo provera> is not a good choice forthe same reason as the pill ... They both work with hormones to stop a pregnancy... When you are losing a lot of weight, especially quickly, your hormones cannot keep up and will fluctuate greatly... YOU CAN GET PREGNANT WHILE ON THE SHOT OR PILL.... Ok.. now that that's been said, I had my son in Jan '99 and went on Depo Provera in May '99 weighing 272... In Feb '00, I weighed 311 and instead of getting another shot and gaining more weight, I opted for an IUD!! I took my last shot of Depo in Nov '99 and didn't STOP GAINING until MARCH '00!!! I gained a total of 39 Lbs becasue of Depo!!! No one told me it could cause gaining and it was not in the pamphlets i read about it.. You talk about being upset!! I STRONGLY advise AGAINST Depo Provera for ANYONE!!! I have had my IUD in for 7 months now and don't regret it for one second!! The first two month I bled more than normal <but not longer than normal> and the cramping was a little worse but not enough to have to take something for them... Otherwise, I've had NO problems whatsoever... Guest guest
I was on Depo for a while and hated it - it made me feel awful. And, I have heard Dr. R say that Depo in particular can make you VERY nauseous. I don't know exactly what is in the new shot but I would run it past Dr. R first! on MGB 10/04/00 Preop 275 10/10/00 269 > If birth control pills are not recommended then what about the birth > control shot I keep hearing about.
