Guest guest
I've been reading the post the past couple of days about what a SOD attack feels like. I too have SOD and chronic pancreatitis. I told my doctor at Mayo that I could not tell the difference between the attacks since both are so painful. I am nauseated most times with either but more so with the pancreatic attacks. Anyway, my question is.....does anyone else have the SOD attacks more frequently on an empty stomach?? Mine has almost always been that way and I have to eat small meals through the day to prevent the SOD from flaring and it almost always wakes me up around 3:00 - 4:00 am. I have actually gained weight because of my erractic eating habits. What a frustration!!!! Thanks Zoie
Guest guest
Zoie, Recently we found that many of us experienced this. I have to basically keep myself from having an empty stomach. I too put on weight because of this.

Guest guest
Zoie- Yep...I have CP and SOD...and the only thing that I can draw as a similarity with my attacks is hunger. I mentioned this to my gastro doc who specializes in CP and he just said " Interesting... " I'm not sure what that meant, but at least I didn't get that " incredulous " look I get at times! I was slowly gaining weight because of this until recently, then I lost over 40 pounds in less than 3 months. I still eat the same, the only difference is the pain level stepped up. If you get an explaination, please share it, cuz I am really curious. Hugs, Suzi Colorado > > I've been reading the post the past couple of days about what a SOD > attack feels like.
