Guest guest
My son (who doesn't have CF) only likes " plain " ice cream- chocolate or vanilla. He'll pass on anything else. Pretty much unheard of for me too! My daughter, though, with CF, would probably eat an entire quart if you'd let her. You have got some great Dr.'s there in Denver... Wife, son (1.5 w/ CF), and I moved to Atlanta a few months ago, and it's quality care here - but the Denver group at Children's is top notch in so many different ways. Good luck, and we're with you all. Not minimizing what we're all going through in the least...but the first step, the first " boo boo " , the first words, the first everything...he's our son...nothing " different " at all. On another note...has there ever been a kid who didn't want freakin' ice cream? Ours has decided he's " above it " (I'm sure it won't last long). ------------------------------------------- The opinions and information exchanged on this list should IN NO WAY be construed as medical advice. Guest guest
My daughter (20 1/2years) wont touch ice cream unless it is really hard, but it it starts melting forget it. She has never eaten it. She wont touch shakes or protien drinks. But now she eats a full meal almost every 2 hours, a lot of cooking fo us but I don't care. She said she wont move out till she's married i guess she likes me waiting on her!!!! Anyway good luck finding other high calorie foods. judy You have got some great Dr.'s there in Denver... > Wife, son (1.5 w/ CF), and I moved to Atlanta a few months ago, and > it's quality care here - but the Denver group at Children's is top > notch in so many different ways. > > Good luck, and we're with you all. Guest guest
Hi, My daughter has never liked ice cream. When she was younger when she needed to put on weight (no longer a problem) the dietician and doctors would ask her what she liked to eat. She said (no kidding!) Lettuce! They were freakin out and saying don't you like ice cream? no Don't you like milkshakes? no Mcs? no.... and so on. She liked lettuce and cheese. Honestly that is not all she ate but that is what she would say. And it was before she knew it bugged them and she wasn't saying it to get under their skin. LOL. love, M PS Clinic isn't until next Tues. I was confused. But she seems better today.
Guest guest
We sure do! Elias, are you in Denver? We are in Colorado Springs but get up to Denver for annual visits. We have a clinic here 2 times a month where the docs from Denver come here. We are soooo lucky!
