Guest guest
Hi , Black is good. That means there is air in there where it is supposed to be. White is bad, you may confuse gray with white, I am not sure there. That is about all I know. You should be able to tell where his nose is and see how far up the black goes. That shows you how far the air can reach. Black spots behind/above the eyes are the sphenoid<sp?> sinuses, that would be good if they were black too. good luck, M results of ct scan Hi all, well the CT scan went very smoothly, The tech was great with . We got a copy of the CT scans and half way home, guess what...... The scans were not 's but of an eight months old child's scans of her stomach. We have an appointment with the ENT doc at Nemours so hopefully he can tell me what we are looking at. They took several pic of , I wasn't allowed in the room but he said did great. Also had labwork that day, let me tell you, it was rough. He cried but was very brave. I took him to 's for a frosty and he felt better. Anyone know how to read a CT scan? or have an idea on what to look for? I just want to gets ideas before we go see the doc. Guest guest
, I think you are referring to a CT scan of the sinuses? We were told that in a healthy person's scan, the sinus areas should be mostly black. All of the gray is the infection filling up the sinus cavities. Ben's are completely gray and actually pushing in on his nose and eye areas. The ENT surgeon told us he has seen that infection start eating away at the eye sockets if left too long. If you're only seeing bits of black on 's scan, the sinus cavities are filling up. We were also told that all of the polyps will be removed during this surgery. Why weren't you allowed in the room with during the CT scan? I have always stayed with my kids during theses scans. I think it is a lot less scarey for them if you can stay. Guest guest
Why weren't you allowed in the room > with during the CT scan? I wasn't allowed to stay with my son either when they did the CT scans. The maxillary sinuses are usually the first sinuses affected. They are the side of the nose. Can you see anything there? My son's were " missing " meaning they were completely filled. I'll bet you could probably find a CT scan of healthy sinuses on the web if you looked. jan
Guest guest
It's like any use of X-Ray; liability and potential hazzard from frequent and UNNECCESARY exposure--MRI's they sometimes let the parent stay in the room as that is electro-magnetic energy. I did not write the policy, believe me! Love to all of you with kids being scanned, your selves being scanned, n Rojas Re: results of ct scan Why weren't you allowed in the room > with during the CT scan?
