Guest guest
Cyndi- I read your post and I have a couple of questions to ask you. I have had 2 endoscopically placed celiac blocks done...both only lasted 3 weeks, but I went from a 7 to a 2 on the pain scale. Problem is, my Doctor will only place the endoscope blocks every 3 months and won't go earlier than that. So I had a block placed through the back just last Thursday, and I am not too happy so far. I was at an 8 on the pain scale, the first day I was a 3, but my pain levels keep going up everyday. It has been 8 days since the block and I am sitting between a 5-6, hitting a 7 or up at night. My doctor said that lots of pancreas patients need to have two blocks fairly close together to get a better level of pain relief. He didn't mention this to me before the first block... So, my questions...do you find better pain relief with endoscopically placed blocks? Do you find that the endoscope placed block last longer than through the back? Honestly, I am ready to give up on blocks. It is just cruel to feel better for a little while, then have to wait to schedule another block (which, incidentally takes 4-6 weeks to schedule one again) It is all I can do to fight the depression when the pain comes back. Thank you for any information you are willing to share. I need all the help I can get! Take care. Hugs, Suzi Colorado
