Guest guest
My son is having a blood clot drained from his ear (self inflicted - self injurious behavior) tomorrow. They want to put him on antibiotics. Should I continue with his probiotics? How long after the antibiotics will it take to get him his good flora back? Should I tell the doctor I don't want to give him the antibiotics? Thanks, Maureen
Guest guest
Maureen, I think you should give him the antibiotics. But you must continue the pro-biotics, just don't give them close to the antibiotics. For example, if you give the antibiotic at 6 a.m., 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. then give the pro-biotics at 10 am. and 6 p.m., etc. , mom to > > My son is having a blood clot drained from his ear (self inflicted - > self injurious behavior) tomorrow. Guest guest
I agree that you need to give the antibiotics in this case. I suppose it would kill off some of the probiotics.... even if you give it at a different time of day.... but some will survive. It's impossible to know how long it would take to get his gut back in balance after the antibiotics are finished..... but the most important thing is to stick with legal foods, and just keep the acidophilus coming in. best, Patti Have to go on antibiotics My son is having a blood clot drained from his ear (self inflicted - self injurious behavior) tomorrow.
