Guest guest
Hi Kris, Thank for the message. I have not long come home from midnight Mass and just logged on on my way to bed! That's how I come to answer you at 2.30 am on Christmas morning! Yes, I went back to a fully normal diet wheatwise but, of course, cakes and such are out anyway because they are high in fat. Well, I don't think I really noticed any dramatic bad effect but perhaps, on the whole, I have had more problems than in the preceding months when I was still gluten-free as well as low fat, no-alcohol and on Creon. As you know, this is a patchy condition anyway and I get bad days and bad hours on good days as well. As I explained, I will have to look more closely, after Christmas hols, at the report the gastro gave me. He didn't have time to go through it properly but I have an appointment with him in Feb. I could also go through it with my GP of course. When I know a bit more and understand the implications of the reports more fully, I'll let you know. I'm so used to following the gluten-free diet that I wouldn't be too bothered although it's ben convenient recently not to have to take my own bread or crispbreads on journeys! It does make eating out easier as well if you're not gluten-free. To have to eat low-fat all the time as well is a bit difficult. Thank you again for posting about this. Please could you remind me (I hope I'm remembering correctly) about your diagnosis. Weren't you only recently diagnosed as coeliac as well as having CP? Which came first? I know for sure that my main problem is definitely the CP because I was in such pain in 2002, for example, when I was strictly gluten-free. However, back in 1988 when I was diagnosed as coeliac, changing to a gluten-free diet did certainly help with the steatorrhoea. Well, I'd better turn in now....a lot to do tomorrow and I've had a lot of pain to-day. It was my worst day for a while, possibly because of being so physically busy getting the house ready for Christmas, lots of extra shopping etc. I'll be in touch. Take care!
