Guest guest
Count me in too. I always contributed my " freezing " to the fact that I am thin. But I do know that the chills are part of the CP and SOD that I have. Especially when I have a bad attack coming on, I start to shiver and it feels like there is an air-conditioner blowing on me...I get goosebumps all over! My hubby will put a couple of blankets in the dryer for a few minutes, and that helps alot. Take care Kris in TN
Guest guest
Suzi, Chrissy, , I'm with you on this! I'm always cold......... and I have discussed this phenomenen and don't know whether its the malabsorption, the CP or what. When I was down to my pre-DKA weight of 98 pounds, being cold was understandable, but then as I gained and hovered at 110-112, it continued. Now I'm finally up to 124, and I'm still COLD! Our weather here is about 5-8 degrees warmer than Chrissy's, and I, too have the blankets underneath my quilt, flannel sheets on the bed, and in spite of the night sweats every night, wake up freezing. I have to change clothes usually twice each night, because the second the fabric gets wet, I get cold from the damp and wake up. Hubby usually sleeps on top of the covers or has them all pushed back....and complains that it's too hot. I have to keep the thermostat at 77, or I'm walking around with a heavy sweater or a throw around my torso. What is this??? The only time I'm warm enough is when I get cooking and the kitchen fills up with all the radient heat. It's the first room on the venting system, too, so it's usually one of the warmest rooms in the house, outside of my bathroom, which is always HOT, and my favorite spot of all. I have a vanity table in there with a stool, that the kids call my " throne " , and I spend a lot of time there, writing letters, making out grocery lists, etc., just because it's so warm. Since it's also right next to the laundry room, it's a convenient place to hang out. Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that you aren't the only ones that are shivering all the time! I keep a spare fleece vest in the car for visits to the store, too! With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina State Rep. Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I have to comment on this one because I am the exact opposite I am HOT HOT HOT all the time. I am sweating all the time. I will be shopping in the Grocery Store with my wife who swears and tries to push being 4'11 " where she is really 4'10 " about 125lbs after we had the baby he is so cute awww(Sorry had to add that I'm a new daddy Well not that new he is 5 months TODAY YAY.... He is my pride and JOY the LOVE of my life , Well MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE is as well) but I had to add that I can't stop thinking and talking about my little .. Anyways smack myself back into reality. I am at the Grocery Store with my wife in the frozen food section and she is yelling at me to hurry up she is freezing and I'm hot hot hot anywhere it's like that I mean She was born in Central America and lived there for 13 years and I was born and raised in Boston SO I love the cold and she hates the cold she loves the heat. I love winter because sometimes it's cold for me not to wear anything. I am at home and its middle of December and Jan Feb March and I have a Fan on High at me and at work everyone else is cold complaining and I have a little personal fan on my desk on all the time when I'm here. I usually put the AC on in the car when I'm by myself when I'm with the family I'm considerate and I just strip down to my tee shirt and drive like that. I am very considerate to my wife and my son so I will suffer while they are comfortable. We are staying at my mother in law's house because our apartment had a fire a few days before Christmas because of a woman on the 4th floor smoking with an Oxygen tank and booom there goes her apartment and ours along with 5 other apartments. Thank GOD the baby was at his grandma's house the Night before so he was OK but I was trapped in my apartment with the smoke and the fire so I went to the baby's bedroom and put wet towels there and the Fire Department was there in 3 minutes and everything was out in 20 minutes or so but it was pretty bad and scary and couldn't breath. So we are staying with my mother in Law which is very nice and not the typically Mother and Father in Law that you always here or see on TV the only problem is they only speak Spanish and I don't LOL. So that is the only problem but they live in the public Housing as it is nicely put or the Projects the real word and it has the heat blasting 24 hours a day all the time you can not control it the Housing Department controls it and its always on and I'm always so so so HOT I always walk around in my Boxers and Tee shirt and I feel bad for my son but he is OK like that he is in the little t shirts that he would wear in the summer time but he wears them now.. Oh he is so so so cute he has learned to roll on his belly he has been doing it for about 3 weeks now and he loves it Aww I love him.. And his knew thing is he coughs and goes cough cough and when you look at him he laughs and smiles he wants the attention HE is so so Cute looks like daddy. I hope and pray to GOD that I don't give him this disease. I pray that he will be OK and it ends with me. I don't think I could take it if he had that and it was my fault I'm the one that gave it to him so young. I wouldn't like that to much. Anyways also one more little bit of bad news my other car was stolen. We have 2 cars and one of them was stolen. Oh and the cake toper. I have been on Reglan for about 3 years now everyday 4-5 times a day and I found out it can cause depression so you should only take it for 3 months max well I was on it a lot more than that and I became severely depressed and Suicidal and I wanted to end it all I knew how I was going to do it when and everything and it was all d/t the medication. I should have not been on that medication for so long it made me literally go crazy. So it hasn't been going well lately and also I am getting bad My belly is hurting more and more everyday. Plus the bad part is coming the pain is moving to the back and that isn't good but I am throwing up everything including water I can't even handle water at this point and that isn't good. I am trying to drink Gatorade but it's not staying down as it should be so I am taking sips now that started yesterday @ 5am Wednesday along with the diarrhea and the problem with that is that the pain starts then the Vomiting and the diarrhea comes and the next step is a wonderful full expenses paid trip to the ER with complimentary shuttle service to my room while being NPO and Doctors saying its not CP your labs are a tiny bit elevated there normal So I will have the doctors all say its not that until my GI Doc tells them to admit me to hospital under his service. Then I will hear it from him for a few days while I'm nursed back to health in better condition and RN'S saying to me your to young for this and were you a drinker? and WOW your on a lot of Pain meds are you sure you need them all.. and the worse of it all my wife will be upset with me and this will cause an argument or a verbal fight on her behalf saying that I'm not there to see my son blah blah blah. I really don't like getting that package even if its free and the medication is better there thats for sure. So that is about it. I would like to say I'm sorry I went on a tangent but I am not doing well and I needed to get it out so I do apologize that this e mail is long and if your still reading it that sure does show that you care and thank you for that. It makes all the best and makes me feel that at lest you care even though we don't know each other physically. But to get back to the point at hand I am always HOT 110% of the time I am hot it drives my wife mad. I hope they find a cure LOL to get rid of it all the pain the nausea and the heat... Thank you for listening even though it was a long E mail. Thanks again Gio IN pain Bad... Not a good day today
