hi,is it normal to be able to smell a pseudamonas infection of the sinuses

from a distance? my 16 yr. old son ,jason, has had chronic sinusitis with

several surgeries for the past 3 years. a week ago i noticed a very distinct

smell

everytime he walked by me. several days ago i investigated and found the

smell to be coming from his nose. he admitted that his head had been hurting

pretty bad and that his sinuses were sensitive to touch. i called the cf dr.--

they said time for a new surgery/ and that the pseudamonas was bad for me to be

able to smell it. we have known that he had mrsa, but was unaware of any

pseudomonas excect for a growth about 6 yr ago and no more has been said about

it. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, it has always seemed to me that pseudomonas smells somewhat like

wintergreen, but I can always tell--even in myself! I know, nuts! Love,

n Rojas
