I personally only use the packaged starter from Yogourmet.

I don't know of a legal starter yogurt right now. Dannon plain yogurt used to

be legal, but I'm not sure it still is. Hopefully someone else can comment.

I took a look at the PDF. It seems like they are being pretty forthcoming in

telling exactly the three cultures they include.... and those are the three

main legal ones for starter. Sounds okay to me.

On this page, http://www.dannon.com/pdf/liveActiveCultures.pdf a

special brochure from the Dannon Information Center says

" DANNON adds a third culture to all of it's refrigerated cup yogurts -

Lactobacillus Acidophilus " . (It's by the spoon on the second page if

you want to see it.)

Is this good enough to qualify it as still being a safe starter or do

we need written statement declaring they only add the three cultures?
