Guest guest
Before the whipple, I too had that pain. It was more like an intense burning. I always thought it was the tail of the panc. The head had a sharp pain. The stone caused a back up and my gut would be beyond words with pain. They couldn't get the contrast to drain my last ERCP because of the stone and that caused a whale of an accute attack. Again, the left side awful pain, the head, the back ...name it. It is so sad how our pain hurts our loved ones. The look of total helplessness and horror on my guys face used to hurt me almost as much as the pancreas! Guest guest
Suzi, So sorry that you were hit by this. The fact that the PC pump wasn't even working isn't funny at all. I don't know how you did it. My pain is always upper left sided. On my first hospitalized attack the pancreas was inflamed and my stomach was compressed, the doc said the pain was caused by the swollen pancreas pushing against the compressed stomach which was pushing against my ribs. Don't know why it would cause an " incredulous " look from the doc, perhaps he was stunned by your knowledge? You know, the docs think we don't know anything...... I'm glad you're home and doing better. Rest up as much as you can. Did you get my email about the wedding? The bride wouldn't happen to need 27 custom-made antique blue and ivory toile table scarves to cover the long tablecloths would she? No fooling......I'm going to try to sell them to the caterer or on e-bay. Would love to hear more about the wedding. Take care! With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Suzi, Hi, I too get that awful ache in my side after an attack. Sometimes it is left-sided and sometimes it is right-sided. But I have described it as (the feeling of carrying a large brick around)... a heavy one at that!. I have to walk hunched over and very softly because the walking causes it to hurt more, almost like a really bad bruised feeling. Don't know if you can realte to my experience or not. I sure hope you are feeling better today. Take care Kris in TN
