Guest guest
T...generally they put a device on your finger that monitors your Oxygen saturation level. The simplest thing is to call the hospital, ask to speak to someone in the anesthesia dept. and ask them...your question is a good one. most ORs will let you get away with one finger with the acrylic removed, but it depends on the equipment and their reg's. every hosp is different. Guest guest
Hi , Dr.R wants them totally removed. Some have gone in for surgery with only one removed. It's my personal opinion that they should all come off like the good Doc wants. Why take chances over a $50 set of nails. It's my understanding that they watch your nail beds during surgery to make sure you are getting enough oxygen. I know they can also watch the beds of your toenails with some surgeries but you will have your toes covered with TEDS stockings during the MGB. It's your call.... or maybe I should say DrR's call. Best wishes. Love, Genz jwtruelove@... wrote: > Hi Everyone!! > This questions has probably been asked before, however, I need the > answer. I have acrylic nails and am having surgery 11/17/00. Guest guest
Hi : I got this straight from Barbara. All polish off toes and fingernails and acrylic off the index fingers only. They will need to put the oxygen meter on one of your index fingers. So I took the acrylic off both index and everything went fine.
