Guest guest
or , I have had low blood pressure all my life. If the top number rises over 100, I tell the nurse I am getting ready to have a stroke. My BP usually runs 85/65. When I am in the hospital with an attack and am on pain meds, it frequently runs around 80/40. I warn the dr/nurse anytime they are going to do a procedure (i.e. ERCP) that it typically runs low so they don't freak out. I have been in recovery listening to the nurses freak because it was 75/36! My mother also had low BP, so it runs in my family. It is hard for me to imagine because I am a " Type A " personality and am VERY high strung (my husband says high maintenance!! haha). Once when I was hospitalized in Wash DC with an acute attack (I was presenting at a conference there), the nurse in ER would not give me any pain meds until my BP got up to 100! I was SO mad and hurting so bad, that I literally worked myself in a frenzy to get it to go up so I could get pain meds - ignorant medical personnel irritate me! I don't know if CP causes low BP as I have always had low BP. Cecilia Mesa, AZ
