Guest guest
OKay List... it's day 5 post op. I did so well on the clear liquids that I thought I'd try some soft cream stuff. I had some cream potato soup -- the WALKABOUT SOUP (from the Outback). It went down great and I ate it super slow. I feel wonderful! It tasted wonderful! I had about 4 or 6 ounces of it. Less than a cup. I also had my first bathroom visit for no. 2 (trying to say this gently) and it was NORMAL and the stink meter is about where it was before surgery. LOL If it weren't for these 5 staples in my belly and the memory of hopping up on that girney at Durham Regional Hospital on 10-25-2000 - I swear to you I wouldn't think I had surgery! Now don't get me wrong, I am eating super slow and in very small amounts, but I am sooooooo very grateful for answered prayer that I could just cry. In fact I have cried tears of joy before and after surgery. I had lots of ankle edema (even the day of surgery) that is 80% gone from the right ankle and 99% gone from the left! My God I have my ankles back!!!! Dare I say I can be cute in a skirt again! I don't know if I have lost any weight yet or not, I weigh in tom. at the clinic. But even if I haven't, I know it's forth coming. This is the BEST thing I have ever done for myself and my body. I am as happy now (if not moreso) than before I had my surgery. I just want all the pre-ops to know that you will read all sorts of experiences. I read stories like my very own and I prayed heaven down for a good expereince. So my advice is PRAY!!!! God answers prayers. __________________________________________________
