Guest guest
The legal juices are.... Tropicana Pure Premium OJ -the original plain one... not with calcium added. Welch's grape (purple, white, red) juice in bottles, not the frozen kind. Kedem Kosher grape juice Dole 100% Pineapple juice in cans, not frozen. Canned or bottled tomato juice if only tomatoes and salt are added (many brands). Knudsen's " Just Juice " line... ONLY.... not their other juices. Apple cider... only the fresh-pressed, unfiltered, cloudy, uncooked (except to pasteurize and bottle) kind... found in refridgerated section or at farmer's markets. Home-juiced.... any legal fruit or veggie.... made with the type of juicer that strains out all the pulp. I think that's all of them. Guest guest
Thanks for the information on the juices, Patti. I was told by a DAN! practioner that Santa Cruz juices were legal and was just double checking, Patti wrote: The legal juices are.... Guest guest
Hi Patti, Am I right to think that any home juiced fruits (w. all fibre removed - I'd strain it to make sure) are ok on the introduction diet??? Some vege juices too maybe? I often juice parsley and feel it does me a lot of good! I can't have eggs or dairy so Im just exploring ALL my possibilities before I jump in. Many thanks, Anne. > > > The legal juices are.... > > Tropicana Pure Premium OJ (the original plain one... not with calcium added) > > Welch's grape juice in bottles, not frozen > > Kedem Kosher grape juice > > Dole Pineapple juice in cans, not frozen > > Canned or bottled tomato juice if only tomatoes and salt are added > > Knudsen's " Just Juice " line... Guest guest
No..... not on the Intro diet. The only two juices that are included on intro are grape and apple cider. If you have a juicer, you can juice your own apples..... and that would be fine for Intro. All the other fruit and veggie juices will have to wait until AFTER Intro..... and then you can use any legal fruit or veggie.... but you'll still need to dilute. Guest guest
Do you mean that it is in a carton? In the refridgerated section? The only one that is technically, officially legal is the canned one. I honestly don't know if a fresh in the carton version was around until just recently.... maybe not long enough for Elaine to have investigated it herself. We here on this list don't have the authority to deem any new products to be legal, so that would be something you'd have to verify for yourself.... by getting written confirmation from the company that nothing.... absolutely NOTHING else has been added. Then, you can use it if you feel comfortable with that.... and just watch carefully to be sure they don't change the lable or add something at some point. Of course, this is wise policy for any and all commercial products, even those that have been " legal " for a long time. We just can't control what manufacturers might decide to do. I never buy juice.... so I don't have that issue to contend with. I have a juicer, though.... and have on occasion bought a fresh pineapple and juiced it myself. WOW... was that good!
