We just got our band from CT Oakbrook on Monday. Our band is designed to correct my sons plagio and brachy. We've talked about that with the clinicians and I expect improvement with both. So, I don't think you always need 2 helmets to correct both. Of course we're not even a week in, but my son is severe and the clinicians are hopeful that we will have enough improvement with one band that we won't need two.Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerryFrom: "iskrzyniarz" <iskrzyniarz@...>Sender: Plagiocephaly Date: Fri, 25 Feb 2011 02:49:43 -0000<Plagiocephaly >Reply Plagiocephaly Subject: Re: cranial technologies- charlotte my daughter was 6 mm, and 92... we went to CT, plagio was never my concern I didn't even see it on the pictures.... I didn't know much about helmets at the time. They treat her for plagio and she was overcorrectin after only 5 weeks. But given her age (6 months) the band should last 10-12 weeks. To treat brachy we needed another helmet. I guess it was maybe miscommunication... to brief it up my daughter got another helmet free of charge. Remember if you want to treat plagio and brachy you are going to need two helmets at CT.>> Hi everyone! I am brand new to the group and wanted to see if anyone has been to the CT in Charlotte. I am taking my son to be assessed there tomorrow.> We noticed some flattening about 6 weeks ago then noticed some asymmetry as well. We are doing some PT for mild tort which has improved greatly in just 2 weeks.> I took Mason to the Hanger clinic in our hometown and just wasn't sure how many helmets the orthotist does. His measurements only showed 5 mm asymmetry with a 92.9 cephalic index. So, more brachy than plagio. > I am eager to see what Cranial Technologies measurements show.> I look forward to hearing thoughts and opinions on DOC band vs. Hanger.> Thanks!!>
