Guest guest
That would be Hanger. The two locations that do helmets is the White Plains, NY office and Edison, NJ. We had the same problem with Horizon. The rep couldn't answer our question either. We went on the Horizon website and Hanger was listed. If there is a medical necessity (decided by Horizon) the insurance company with pay 90% of the approved amount. You will be responsible for the 10%. When we did the calculations, it came out to about $200 out of our pocket. It is very difficult to get straight answers from the insurance company though. However, we didn't go with Hanger. We decided to pay out of pocket and go to Cranial Technologies. We felt more comfortable there. > > Anyone know of a NJ location that accepts Horizon Blue Cross for the helmets? We went to Cranial Remolding Center for an initial appointment. Horizon considers them out-of-network and the out of pocket expense is very high. The problem is that no rep at Horizon can figure out a provider in-network. Any help will be much appreciated! >
Guest guest
I take my son to Cg Medical/Jack Gold Surgical Appliances in North Brunswick, NJ. CArey Glass the orthotist is wonderful and Horizon- at least under my plan covered them at 100%. Let me know if you need any other information. PS to get better information from the insurance company call and get your child a case manager- they get you all the infor you need for who is covered in-network and go all the way through with you until you actually get the helmet. Hope this helps, Suzie From: shellie519 <shellie519@...>Subject: Re: NJ location that takes Horizon Blue CrossPlagiocephaly Date: Friday, February 25, 2011, 5:34 PM That would be Hanger. Guest guest
We have a different BCBS PPO but I think we got an exception to use cranial tech because there wasn't an in network option that was closer. It took an appeal or two. ED > > Anyone know of a NJ location that accepts Horizon Blue Cross for the helmets? We went to Cranial Remolding Center for an initial appointment.
