Guest guest
mom Jo, you know we are all here for each other. You are part of this BIG family and always will be. Today is a time of mourning for all of us. We just have to remember all the Joy, Awareness, and Love that Angie gave to all of us. I am sending a hug that will wrap my arms around you so we can grieve together. God has Angie wrapped in His loving arms too. I love you mom,

Guest guest
Jo, I had a biopsy of my ear when it was in a full flare and its findings were inconclusive. This is not always a good marker for RP, or in my case it wasn't. I have heard different opinions from different drs. on this. Please check out our web site if you haven't at www.polychondritis.org. Under " links" you will find " e medicine" and a real good article from Dr. Karin Harp on RP. Under articles is Dr. Trenthams report and also under research, Dr. Jane Buckners' study. If you want to find info on any one special subject, please just ask the group and they will help you find what you need. Again, welcome to the group and I hope we can help in any way possible. Just keep asking questions. hugs The next time I have what he calls a flare they are going to get me immediately in for a biopsy behind my ear. Guest guest
> Jo, I had a biopsy of my ear when it was in a full flare and its findings > were inconclusive. Thanks for this piece of information. Maybe if I tell all of you " experts " on this disease what I'm experiencing, you can enlighten me if it sounds similar to what you've dealt with. Right now my ears are only thing possibly related to RP that I'm having trouble with other than arthritic type pain. The ENT has done many tests and there is nothing structually wrong with them. My symtoms are ear fullness, sharp ear pain, feeling of swelling on the outside ear, ringing in the ear, throbbing and probably some other things I can't remember right now. These symtoms will happen every few weeks lasting for awhile but inbetween the ears always feel full and will throb....mostly in the left ear. I used to go in to the dr. and think there was an infection, but usually there was not. Sometimes they gave me antibiotics anyway because the canal would be red too. Right now I'm using drops when things get worse that are cortisone....to keep the swelling down inside the ear. As I mentioned before I do have other autoimmune diseases, so this would not be surprising to me. Any insights any of you can pass my way would be appreciated. I've been reading everything I can get my hands on so thanks for the help. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Jo
