Guest guest
Gosh how I miss going to a pub...not to drink alcohol mind you, I don't like the taste of many alcohols, but just the atmosphere...I haven't been to a bar since being in the states, but I can tell you it certainly would be different than that of the local pub..in Australia mind you because I haven't been to England where I'm sure the PUB originated...is that right Fliss? *L* Just the general commraderie, people getting to know each other, and the bar staff also. That alone could get you free drinks at times..and could make a shy girl like myself comfortable to go by myself, knowing that there would be people there that I would know...and the food is always excellent and fulfilling and much much cheaper than a restaurant. Mixed grill (consisting of beef sausages, steak, bacon, chips (fat fries) and eggs..yummy, or roast and veges or just a plate of hot chips smothered in gravy..ah those were the days. There is actually an irish pub in Knoxville, but I don't want to take into it, and I can't find anyone that wants to go with me..think that's as close as what I'd get to being " home " again for a while. I would usually sit on a lemonade (which is the same as a sprite or 7 up..only slightly different flavour), or a coke or one of my favourites, a lemon squash. Playing Keno occasionally or pool...think I'll have to take you and your husband there when you come visit one day *s* I hope those islets start working soon, but in the meantime, at least your sugar levels aren't all over the place and uncontrollable.
