Guest guest
Ok! I did it! I just filled out my pt contact form online.. one step closer now!!! Yipee!!! Spunky Re: MGB Surgery First, call Dr. Bartles in Cary, he is great and will be more than happy to do your physical, write your letter to Dr. R and follow you after surgery. He is a really nice guy. Look in the phone book under Bariatric physicians, or email me back privately and I can give you his number. He is a family physician and can do all of the stuff you need done beforehand, he just decided to concentrate in this field a while ago back. Second, I don't know where you work or what ins. options you have but my husband works for the state and we changed to the NC State Teachers and Employees Plan administered by NCBCBS during the open enrollment period. They cover the surgery as long as you meet their criteria which isn't hard to do if you truely are obese (Other than obesity I too have no other health problems). I had my answer back from them in about 4 days. They say 3-5 days so I was happy with that. The best advice I could give is to check and see which plans you have to choose from cover this kind of surgery. I know that some folks who have BCBS have had a hard time but it just depends on your individual policy that your employer offers and whether or not it is covered. If you work for the state though the State Plan is the way to go. It is an 80/20 plan though so there will be some out of pocket expense but I have heard that when it comes down to it that the expense is not as much as you would expect. If I can be of further assistance let me know. I live in Raleigh and will be having surgery 12-6-00!!!!! I would be glad to speak to you over the phone or otherwise, just let me know and I will email you my number privately. Price pre-op 12-6-00 still looks good to put that at the end of my name --- Liverman wrote: > Hello everyone... > > I live in the Raleigh-Durham area and consider > myself > very lucky to be so close to Dr. Rutledge.
