Elisabeth hasselbeck discussed her celiac disease on " The View " today and

comments were

made by her doctor, Green. many GF treats were shown but I don't know what

the

baked good swere made of. I emailed Elisabeth. Why don't you? Just go to:

http://abc.go.com/daytime/theview/

The email menu is upper left.

Dear Elisabeth,

I am celiac and have followed the Specific Carbohydrate Diet for seven years.

www.breakingtheviciuscycle.info

This diet goes beyond the Gluten Free Casein Free Diet as it excludes not only

gluten, but

also dissacharide starch which is contained in corn, rice and potatoes and

cannot be

directly absorbed into the bloodstream without taxing a compromised digestive

system.

The book " Breaking the Vicious Cycle " is under $25 and at and Noble or on

Amazon.com.

We bake with nut flour and can use home incubated yogurt as the lactose gets

consumed

and also cow and goat cheeses aged more than 30 days but no ricotta or

mozzarella.

Check out the site and ask Dr. Green about Ealine Gottschall and the SCD.

The diet was orginated fifty years ago by Dr. Sydney Valentine Haas and I am

sure Dr.

green will be familiar with it as it was pioneer celiac research

Before I became celiac I had lost a lot of weight as I originally weighed 219

from years of

Lithium. I lost the weight but became celiac for several reasons. being on SCD

has made it

easy to maintain an 86 poubd weight loss although the diet is not about weight

loss. I no

longer need Lithium and am emotionally stable and no longersuffer depression or

bi-polar

extremes.

I love the show, am enjoying Rosie's tenure as host and try not to miss a day.

Bravo, you ladies rock!

Carol F.

SCD 7 years, celiac
