I have a question on the hormones --- if you are on

hormone replacement therapy do you not have to take

them anymore after surgery?? Or is it just temporary?

This surgery doesn't change menopause, does it?

And Gwen - were you diabetic before surgery?

Thanks

Margaret in St. Louis

menopausal AND diabetic!

Margaret: I was on hrt before surgery (was 57 at surgery) and I NEEDED them

before surgery or I was miserable. Two days post-op I went back on them but

began having nausea thereafter. Finally, when I figured out it was the hormone

pills doing it, I quit taking them, called my gyn and she prescribed a patch

instead. No more problems. You may want to go back on them and see what

happens. If you get nausea, then you'll pretty much suspect it's from them and

call your doc for a patch.

I need the hormones if my family wants to live.
