Guest guest
Thanks for all the informative responses to my questions concerning zofran and nausea. I have always had some degree of nausea since getting sick and started taking zofran about a year ago. It worked / works very well and I was told about taking as a preventive rather than waiting until I felt awful....so I was doing this most times. I was unaware though of the information that Karyn supplied me with - that it can take up to 1.5 hours to reach peak plasma concentrations, that there no linear correlation between dose and effect, etc....so I have to learn patience or be more diligent in using it as a preventive......Luckily I have no problems with my prescription being filled as written as long as I use the right insurance card (I get 90 a month at ~$2,000 retail cost to the insurance - I only pay $10.00). So I do not think availability is an issue. I am also intrigued about the immediate release / tongue dissolving formulation. I am assuming that this gets into the system earlier? and is more effective? The suggestion that it could be the enzymes are pertinent too. I guess I need to go off them for a longer time to see if they are the culprit. Which is too bad because they did seem to help with the immediate eating pain.....but if they are causing this new / increased type of nausea they are not worth it. Nothing else in my drug regimen has changed so I do not think I can link it to my narcotic or other environmental things. There is always a chance it is a viral bug too that just manifests itself as nausea in me I guess. But as was said by Chrissy....nausea can really get you down, as much as the pain I think. It is really messing with my mind, that is for sure - out of the blue today I just had this craving for it all to be over, those feelings death that the psychs talk about that are a sign of depression, the tearing up at odd moments for no reason at all .....but all of your helpful responses are very welcome and cheering...... Thank You! laurie
