Hello,

My family started the diet dairy free at first.

Make sure you read the book first " breaking the vicious cycle " and

start with the introductory diet on page 51 for 2 to 5 days depending

on your situation. Without the dairy of course. Make sure you read

the site http://www.pecanbread.com/,it will give you a chart on how to

preceed Beyond the Intro. diet. It also has some great dairy-free

recipes there.

Don't rush into the nut flour/nut butter baking if you don't have to

as it may cause problems. We made that mistake. You don't want to eat

anything you can't fully digest...as anything you can't fully digest

will harm and slow down the healing.

When you are ready, start with the nut butter/squash bread first.

When you are ready for the nut flour...page 98 of BTVC has a nice

muffin recipe that needs no dairy.(pecans work well in this recipe.)

I don't think there is a good substitute for the Dry Cottage Cheese

when you are baking...

My son is just starting the nut butter after 5 months SCD.

You can start baking with the famous " Squash Button " recipe ..search

for it on this site.

Ask lots of questions and take your time introducing new foods slowly.

I'm sure a more expert SCD.er can give you more help along the way.

Good Luck,

Cathy
