Guest guest
First I would suggest keeping the band off until it is checked by your ortho. I'm not sure if it can be adjusted. Generally it can until all the foam is missing from an area that requires more room. Once you get to the plastic (or very nearly there) you can't make anymore room for growth. An ill fitting band can make the head worse, so don't keep it on if it doesn't fit well. -christine sydney, 4.5 yrs, starband grad > > My 11-month-old daughter didn't start wearing the helmet from Hanger until she was 8 1/2 months old, even so we saw dramatic improvement over a short time and she was actually " released " from the helmet 3 1/2 weeks ago. She was originally a 13 and is now at 3. But I expressed my concern to my orthotist that she still does sleep on her back at night although not all night but it is hard to gauge exactly how long... so the orthotist said I could keep her in the helmet and that would be fine. I just went back on Thursday and they rounded out a spot where she was developing a red spot... now it's Sunday and she woke up this morning and it appeared to me as if she'd grown the hat was higher in the back, etc. When I took the helmet off she had about 8-10 pressure spots or red areas all along her forehead and some on the " flat-side " of her head. I'm going to call the orthotist tomorrow... but I'm wondering what everyone else thinks. Has she outgrown the helmet or do I go back in and get it rounded out again and see what happens? > > Thanks, > April >
