Guest guest
Hi everyone, I wanted to update you on my husband's tests because some of you sent such kind wishes to us both. The clinical signs from Jim's cystoscopy to-day lead the docs to believe that his cancer is still encapsulated (hasn't broken through the outer shell of the prostate). This would open up the way to very effective treatment, quite possibly a complete cure, through surgery or radiation. Another option is simply " watchful waiting " , because prostate cancer tends to develop very slowly, but at 60, Jim is probably too young for this option to be wise. The doc seemed very positive. Jim has to have an MRI and will then discuss options with the consultant in clinic. Hopefully all will happen before Christmas. The only worry is that the doc did take one more biopsy from a tiny red area in the bladder. He assured us that this was just automatic while he was doing the procedure and that it is highly unlikely to be anything sinister. However, you may remember that the doc who did the original biopsies thought that everything looked quite normal, and was proved wrong, so I won't be relaxing until we get the results of this final biopsy. I was so disappointed that this happened. Well, thanks again for your kind thoughts and prayers. I hope everyone is having good days just now. With very warm wishes, Fliss (UK)
