Guest guest
We always removed our son's helmet if he had anything over 100, teething induced or not, just to be on the safe side...Mommy to Aidan, DOCband grad 10/07and , DOCband free!!From: kpetersb <kpetersb@...>Subject: Re: Helmet off while teething-induced fever?Plagiocephaly Date: Friday, July 30, 2010, 7:30 PMHi Ami, I'm sure others will chime in also. In our experience - two bouts of bronchitis, hand, foot, and mouth, 6 teeth, and various viruses (lucky us I know), we've found it best to err on the side of comfort. Use your best judgement and knowledge of your little one. We've taken the band off anytime we feel that our son is in discomfort and just for peace of mind alone, it has been worth it. It also hasn't effected his growth negatively. We view this whole process as a marathon and not a race. I would rather him be in the band a little longer, than associate the band with extra discomfort. Hang in there and good luck!!>> My 7-mo old in a Starband is teething and now has a runny nose and fever of> 100.2. Guest guest
Thank you all so much to the moms for sharing your experiences. We kept the helmet off overnight and for half of today. He still has a low-grade fever, but we put the helmet back on, and it doesn't seem to be bothering him. Coincidentally, today was Noa's appt with the orthotist, and she too agreed it was okay to take the helmet off during the fever if it seemed to bother him or if he got too hot. All is good. Thank you! Ami On Fri, Jul 30, 2010 at 5:30 PM, kpetersb <kpetersb@...> wrote: Hi Ami, I'm sure others will chime in also.
