Guest guest
Rick, The pancreas has just as much difficulty digesting protein as it does fat, that's why we're instructed to follow a low-fat, low-protein, high carb diet. Many people have an intolerance to soy products. I don't know why, I just know that it's a problem and that's why there are so many products available now without soy in them. Your weakness is caused by the lack of vitamins and minerals that the damaged pancreas is unable to absorb. I'd suggest a good multi-vitamin each day, as well as antioxidants, to help. Type in antioxidants into the webpage " search archives " feature, and you'll find several posts relating to their benefits. I can't offer any advice on the ERCP, having never had one. Yet I do believe that if this is what your doctors feel is necessary to help relieve your pain symptoms, they're only thinking of your best interests. It's up to you whether you want to proceed. It's your choice to continue as you are with your pain, or have this procedure and the possibility of less pain. It's up to you to determine if the possible consequence of an ERCP related attack is worth it, if it would bring you relief from your discomfort. Good luck with your decision.
