Many people found that using epsom salt baths and/or legal activated charcoal to remove/absorb the toxins helped reduce eliminate die off symptoms. Die off symptoms can include nausea, headaches, vomiting etc... Did you add in any new meds or supplements? Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs mom of and
Guest guest
Patti and Sheila: Thank you for the tips and links. I didn't know about the charcoal and Epsom salts. Before I read your posts I started taking bentonite clay in some water between meals. It helped significantly with the nausea aspect. It seems my downturn occurred shortly after eating some almond flour muffins with honey. The honey was unrefined with pollen and propolis in it. I came across something Elaine said: " Please do not use unrefined honey; it has too much pollen in it which is not good considering the immune system is much involved with IBD and you are better off without ingesting a lot of antigenic material. " I'm wondering if I was experiencing some reaction to the honey in addition to the die-off? Have others had problems with honey? I'm staying away from it for now. I didn't add any new meds or supplements last week. My wife is staying busy making all scd legal meals and 24-hour yogurt. It is day 15 and I'm beginning to feel much like I did the first week. I've lost 5 pounds over the past few days but can't afford to lose too much weight. I'm continuing with Elaine's book and trying to learn as much as I can online. I'm looking forward to better days as I stick closely to the diet. Thanks again for the helpful posts! G > > Welcome to the group , > > << My first day on the diet was Monday 12/4.
