Guest guest
Probably no one answered this question because none of us really know. Sorry, I just don't know if it's really okay. I think if you be sure to cook it, it may be fine.... but you may just need to try and see how you feel. Patti parsley i posted a while ago and i don't think i got a response. is it OK to chop fresh parsley up and use it as an herb in my 3rd month of SCD? i know it's legal but i wondered if it's much harder to digest than dried (as a spice). thanks, silvia SCD 10 weeks for eczema, food intolerances
Guest guest
Sylvia, I LOVE parsley (and it's high in magnesium which I seem to lack) but I'm only 3 weeks in and still on first stage foods, so I'm not eating it yet. However I have been juicing it the last few days, a small handful along with an apple, strained (but not cooked). I have a ton of it growing in my garden and I'm quite passionate about eating green leaves so it's my SCD compromise. I even used some of my parsley juice to colour things for a special St s day dinner for my (non SCD) children. It kept it's bright green colour through the cooking! I was hoping to try things like cooked fresh herbs in a few months time so I look forward with interest to see how you do with it, if you decide to trial it. Good luck Anne. > > i posted a while ago and i don't think i got a response. is it OK to > chop fresh parsley up and use it as an herb in my 3rd month of SCD? i > know it's legal but i wondered if it's much harder to digest than > dried (as a spice). > > thanks, > silvia > > SCD 10 weeks for eczema, food intolerances >

How much parsley are we talking about? I occasionally juice kale with ginger and pear and the first diluted sip can seem strong. Carol F. Guest guest
Anne, Juicing your parsley isn't an " SCD compromise " . Juicing raw fruits and veggies is fine in the beginning, as long as you dilute. Guest guest
Hi Carol, I'm juicing a small bunch....hmmm it probably yields a tablespoon of pressed juice, plus an apple - then the whole lot diluted to 50%. That fills an 8 oz glass. I have an abundance of parsley right now so thought I'd try some. Kale is a wonderful green! I wish it were available more here! Guest guest
As I wrote, I'm passionate about eating green leaves, and this is " my " compromise. Guest guest
Parsley also makes a wonderful " tea " if you boil a clean bunch for 20 minutes or so and then strain out the leaves. I like it slightly sweetened. I assume that would be legal. It does have diarrhetic (sp?) properties, so use with caution! Teena
