Have any of the doctor's talked to you about a total pancreatectomy with auto

islet transfer (TP-ICT)? That is one available option for you to consider,

especially at your age. If you're on 250 mg. duragesic and taking 240 mgs. of

a short acting analgesic and still not getting relief, I would think that

surgery

would be your only option at this point. That's a tremendous amount of

narcotics, and if you're in college, I'd think that would make it very difficult

for

you to study and maintain concentration in your classes. Though with the

pain that you say you've been experiencing, I doubt you'd be able to go to

classes, anyhow! Please tell us a little more about yourself and your history.

It would make it easier for us to determine what kind of help we may be able

to suggest for you.

I'm on fentanyl patches, 75 mgs., with changes every 48 hours. I've been

using the duragesic patches for nearly two years now. I also have type1

brittle diabetes, so the TP-ICT is not an option for me.

What is the cause of your CP? Have you had any previous pancreas

surgery? Post again if you have any other questions, I'm sure there's

someone here who can furnish some answers for you.

With love, hope and prayers,

Heidi
