Guest guest
Hello all. We are new to this list but have been implementing the SCDiet now for 7 years. There is a long drawn out reason why my son is sick again, wont bore you with the details, but I need a little added help right now. Any help is welcome. Background: Cole is 7, has had Crohn's since 3 months old, followed the diet for his entire life, and we are now battling a big flare. Meds: 20mg Prednisone, Probiotics (SCD legal), and Remicade. We are on the intro diet. He has been sick this time now for about 2 months. It all started with the flue. Lots of vomiting, D, blood, and a high temperature, and lost about 10 lbs. He is now doing much better than before, gained all the weight back, but I am still having some challanges. I am doing my best to fine tune the diet with the reactions I am getting from his body, and still have many questions. OK..... The kid wont eat the chicken soup. So I made the soup. We use the chicken for pancakes, he LOVES them. Pured the carrots, doesn't care for them but will eat them since I mix them with butternut squash and butter. And use the broth to cook all the other foods in. His BM's started to get a little more formed, and only 3x a day. But now they are liquid, a couple of accidents in his pants sometimes, but now only 2 BM's a day. So now that his BM's have decreased, even though they are diarrhea, is it ok to move on and introduce new foods? Is it ok to use the onions, carrots, and celery to cook the chicken soup and then remove them, so they aren't ingested? Or should I just leave them out to be safe? And is it ok, at this point, for him to have shell fish? Thanks and Cole ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Need Mail bonding? Go to the Yahoo!
