Guest guest
Hello all, Just thought I'd update you on what my specialist said to-day. The cancer screening programme seems to be developing very well although it is still at the research stage; they are going to publish a significant paper on it in a few months. He ordered the ERCP at which they will collect the pancreatic juices for molecular analysis to look for any possible pre-malignant changes. The results won't come through that quickly because it is a research programme and not at the commercial stage yet. He seems hopeful about what the results will be able to tell him. Anyone interested in this screening programme can read about it on the Liverpool site : www.liv.ac.uk/surgery/staff.html Click on " Secondary Screening " . The Europac co-ordinator also saw me. He wants to ensure that it is one of the most senior endoscopists who does the ERCP......FINE BY ME!!!!!! I know the ERCP carries risks but I do think it will be worth it for me, given my very high cancer risk. I'll now catch up on all to-day's messages. Hope you are all having as good a day as poss. With very good wishes to all, Fliss (UK)
Guest guest
hi Fliss, I read your update with alot of interest. I always like to see how research starts or ends up at the patient bedside. I hope it all goes well for you: the procedure itself and the outcome of the test. Keep us imformed! Have you scheduled the ERCP yet? Laurie
