I was also on the sandostantin (sp?) ocretreotide (sp?) injections.

I had them post operatively for several months after the beger

procedure; a whipple that does not require as much anastomosis

because it preserves the pyloric sphincter and duodenum. Your right

is sure is a pricey shot. It would last a few weeks then would wear

off. I told them last July that I didn;t want it any more because I

felt it was no longer doing any good. It did for a little while

though. You should really try to discuss preserving as much of your

innards as possible with the surgeon doing the whipple. It makes

recovery much easier. Do you know when you will have it?
