Guest guest
I was also on the sandostantin (sp?) ocretreotide (sp?) injections. I had them post operatively for several months after the beger procedure; a whipple that does not require as much anastomosis because it preserves the pyloric sphincter and duodenum. Your right is sure is a pricey shot. It would last a few weeks then would wear off. I told them last July that I didn;t want it any more because I felt it was no longer doing any good. It did for a little while though. You should really try to discuss preserving as much of your innards as possible with the surgeon doing the whipple. It makes recovery much easier. Do you know when you will have it? Take care, Chrissy
