Guest guest
The doc who told me 3x was just my GP; I see the endo in a couple of weeks. No body ever imagined my islets would kick in so quickly, myself included. I am supposed to take 1 unit of Novolog/15 grams of carbs and 12 units of lantis at night. Last night I took 10 units of lantus and felt really badly about an hour later, hot flashes, diaphoretic, nauseas and light headed. I took my BS and it was 65. I decided then I was not taking any more insulin. I will nmonitor my sugar but not take any more. I have been running about 150 90 minutes after eating which is not abnormal at all. As far as driving, I wont have to go anywhere until monday. Hopefully I will hear from one of the Cinci docs by then to give me a better idea of what I should do about the insulin. I probabaly had such a bad reaction since it was the first time my body ever hypo'd like that. Last night I felt it coming on. The other day I didn't feel a thing. My mother was a diabetic and I am all too familiar with the signs and symptoms of one going hypo and I had none of those and it happened so fast. What little I remember of it that is. All I can say is thank Ggoodness Alison was here. I hate to imagine what might have happened other wise. Thank you so much for all the advice and stern words. I have read it several times. I would never want to place myself or anybody else for that matter in the line of danger. I have to be cautious about a lot of things now, my BS is only one of them, a very important one. Thanks again and talk soon, Chrissy
