Guest guest
, My twin two year olds do have Celiac. They tested very high on the scale for gluten sensitivity. Garrett's score was 8 times the normal level and 's was 4 times the normal level. They have always been BIG boys. So, when I kept telling their original pediatrician they were throwing up almost daily undigested food (projectile vomitting. Their bodies just could not handle it) he was not concerned or ever even recommended testing them for food problems because they were so big. It has been suggested later that maybe they were able to digest fats okay but not any other nutrition. I don't know. They are about the size of a four year old. At least people are always mistaking them for being at least four years old. So, yes, a child can be big and still have Celiac Disease. Guest guest
Tomorrow we are going to the pediatrician to do a blood test that is supposed to detect celiac disease. Since he could talk he has always asked me if we can go to the doctor and that he is sick. I just thought it was a stage or something. Anyway, I know he hasn't felt well his whole life and he did test as highly sensitive, like take it out of the diet forever sensitive, to gluten, Candida albicans. He did not test sensitive at all to dairy which I thought was odd. I have heard that it is possible to be celiac and not show a positive test. Is this true? We also have a GI doc appt in April. This is the first time I have considered a physical illness instead of a autistic spectrum disorder. But just before a poop or some gas releasing, for about 30 minutes before, he is hyper and can't sit still, mean and irritable and hits and yells. Then after the poop or gas he is very nice. Embarrassed about his poop and doesn't want me to help him but nice. One doctor thought the severe temperament changes was Bi Polar Disorder. Thanks so much for any input or suggestions.
