Guest guest
Tuesday after dinner I got a really bad case of heartburn. Took some Tums and that did not help. Took a vicodin with the intent of just going to bed. At midnight, I got up with my entire gut on fire. I have no way to describe how bad it hurt. I could not get Doug, my guy, to wake up so I drove myself to the emergency room. Is that pitiful or what. The hospital is only a couple of doors down the road but it is a huge addition to the pitiful routine. The doctor in emergency was the same one that treated me my last acute attack. Thank goodness he remembered me. No enzymes at a high level. Just me saying I was in horrible pain. They put me on dilaudid and my local gastro doctor admitted me. They kept me pretty loaded up with the dilaudid so I slept for a couple of days. My local gastro doctor is livid that I had a full Whipple for a stone. I asked him if he had talked to the surgeon and he said, " No. " His partner saw me later that day and asked me the same questions about why I had a Whipple for a stone. I don't have an answer for that. He wanted to know why I didn't have a Peustow. (sp?) Home now. Have to go see my PCP and the gastro next week. PCP feels it is adhesions that is backing everything up. I will find out. Back to work for two weeks and then miss 3 days. Not good at all. So, that is my first post Whipple problem. A big ouch. I did have some time to pray for Chrissy! I also prayed for my roommate as she had lost a few feet of intestine to Chrones. Carol
