Guest guest
Happy New Year ya'll. Hope this one will be better then the last. But thats not why I posted. I am just having a fit with the creon. I am considering asking the doc to switch me to something else. The gas is just killing me. At least that what I think it is. I have taken it before meals, with my first bite, have taken it a little into the meal. The other day I forgot to take it until the end of the meal and I ended up throwing up all night. Felt like the food was stuck in my stomache and couldn't move but just kept building all this gas pressure as it broke down. But no matter what if I eat more then a banana or something else super light I get the worse pain. This just started a week or two ago. When I was in the hospital and staying in the hotel (especially the hotel room service) I had no problems taking it and eating. I ate well in the hotel too... bookoo cakes and deserts to boot. They were so fabulously elegant I couldn't resists. Well now, a boiled egg and toast and I am keeling over 30 minutes~ later. Yesterday we had News Years at my SIL's and I had a great time until I ate, then boom, I got cold sweats and thought I would throw up and we had to leave early. Felt terrible, physically as well as emotionally. I hated to make my family leave they were having such a nice time. I'm not eating any thing strange, just the same ole stuff. Also I wonder how and what is broken down and absorbed. I have forgotten take it with a snack and dont take it with coffee or other beverages but my sugar still goes up. So it has me wondering how are the things we consume broken down and absorbed. I'm not making sucrose , galactose and lactose (etc) anymore, no panc, so how did they get broken down and absorbed into my blood stream to reflect an increase in blood sugar. Interesting huh. Well any input ya'll can give me on this would be appreciated. I have had cp a long time and thought I could handle not having a pancreas anymore but evidently its a whole heck of a lot harder then I thought. I just need to absorb the nutrients so that I can regain my strength. I take a MVI but its not enough; I am still so very weak. Loosing a lot of weight too, but thats still ok right now, I could stand to loose another 25 pounds or so to get to the weight the government said we should be at for my height. Have lost over 10 pounds since the surgery though, so thats a bit much when trying to recover. Wow, wrote a novel, sorry. Look forward to hearing from ya'll and hope every one is doing well. FYI, think the ict is kicking in slowly but surely, my sugars are doing great. Still taking insulin but very little, cool huh!
