Guest guest
Larabars are not " officially " legal, in that we do not.... and will not... have them listed on any sort of list of SCD legal pre-made foods. Digestive Wellness seems to have very good intentions and may have thoroughly checked out all the ingredients. I think that, if all ingredients are verified legal, they should still definitely be considered advanced foods..... and I personally would not ever consider buying them for my daughter. But, that's just me.... she pretty much doesn't eat anything that I didn't make. I have heard that Digestive Wellness is a reputable company and they carry many of the nut flours and other things that SCDers can use. However, I noted recently that they sell raw, unfiltered honey in a large jug. I know raw honey is fine.... but unfiltered definitely is not.... so?? That makes me feel a little uneasy sending people there. I let people know that while DW carries many fine products, we, here at pecanbread, can't guarantee that every single one is legal on SCD. That is really up to each individual to question exactly what is in every product and get written assurance from the manufacturers.... of Larabars, or any other premade product. Then, as always, use them at your own risk. I don't think DW actually bakes the Larabars themselves.... these are made by some other company. (I think??) Maybe they have copies of written assurance from the company on file, so they can mail that info out?
