Guest guest
Hi Patty, In know there are various research studies going on at The Royal Liverpool University Hospital, UK. They are looking at the genetic aspects at present, and future studies are planned to look at the role of antioxidants. There may be research inot other areas too. I don't have the web address to hand at present, but if anyone wants it i can find it for you. Best wishes Sue (UK)
Guest guest
Patty, If you go to: http://www.Clinicaltrials.gov/ you can find several for pancreatitis and related subjects. Also, there are some studies being done at the University of St. Louis: this is one link: http://www.centerwatch.com/patient/studies/stu54933.html or for another study: http://www.med.unc.edu/wrkunits/ 3ctrpgm/cystfib/clin_studies.htm Just go to a search engine like Google, and type in " Research studies pancreatitis and see what you come up with. Hope this helps. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina State Rep. Guest guest
Hi Patty, The web address for The Royal Liverpool University Hospital's surgical / research department is : http://www.liv.ac.uk/surgery/resrch.html This web site contains lots of info on pancreatitis - investigations, surgery etc, as well as research studies. I hope you find it useful. I had my pancreas removed in 2000 (didn't have the islet cell transplant). Last October i developed adhesions which caused an obstruction of the small bowel, so i had to have another operation. I'm making good progress now. Going back to work next monday on a phased return. I'm a nurse and i work with sick children. Happy New Year. Best wishes. Sue (UK)
