Guest guest
Hi Heidi, I just came back from the doc today and he is re-testing my anylase & lipase. I also asked for a triglyceride test, as well as the liver & hepatitis tests. I am still quite concerned as I am not feeling any better. In fact, today I feel much worse...nauseous all day & hardly eating anything. I actually lost 8 lbs. in the last 2 weeks because I am not eating much. I had a few crackers for breakfast with a few sips of 7-up & then supper was a 1/2 of turkey sandwich, which I didn't even finish because I am getting some pinching pains again in the upper right & left quadrants. My doc is suspecting that it is drug induced, but I might have had something starting to brew for a while now & the supplements or whatever just caused it to get worse. He wants me to see my GI doc, so I left a message for my GI doc to see when I can get in to see him..hopefully soon. My doc mentioned the ERCP because he thinks I might have a spasm in the sphincter. Does the ERCP hurt afterwards??? How many of you all have had it done & how many have been successful??? I am getting quite scared right now...:0(. I mentioned that this is quite a blow to me because, even though I don't have an exact diagnosis as yet, I seem to be just constantly not feeling well with something over the last 10 years...from CFIDS, Fibro, IC, and the list goes on and on. So, this is just something else to add to my long list of ailements that cause me great stress every day of my life. The supplements I was taking, I was told, were to help support my gall bladder and help it function better. I really am not sure why I need gall bladder support, but was (stupidly) trusting in this nutritionist to help me improve my overall health, since the last 10 years have been more and more debilitating for me. So, I guess what I was hoping and praying would help me feel better, actually made me worse. I was also wondering what you all eat, as I am not finding much to tolerate. Thanks for any help you can give me! I am sorry to be sounding so upset when there are many of you out there who are in more pain & upheavel than I am, however, right now, I just don't know how much more I can take. Thank you for listening,
Guest guest
, I have had at least 17 ERCPs in a 18 month period and at the end of all but 2 of them it brought on an attack. The two that didn't was only because they couldn't find my pancreatic duct at the time and therefore, they didn't get prodded or poked. Most times I ended up staying in hospital for a few days afterwards. An ERCP is performed so a doctor can see inside the pancreas and ducts for any strictures and they can also measure if there is any pressure on the duct, which would tell them if you are having Sphincter of Oddi attacks. I would be preparing for a hospital stay just to be on the safe side.
