Elaine never insisted we use organics but stated they are a better option. Since

we are

talking yogurt and milk, I came across an interesting student project that was

part of a

California State Science Fair.

I have the details on how the experiment was conducted but they are lengthy and

I am

unable to cut and paste as they were intebed to be in a pdf. format.. Here is

the

conclusion and it begs the question, " Where can we find Organic Goat's Milk? " It

sounds

like it would be very good for making SCD Yogurt. Organic milk does not have to

be raw.

" Organic milk, with its better ability to support the growth of beneficial

bacteria, should be used for young children,

for people with weak immune system, and for cancer patients who take

probiotics (live beneficial microorganisms) to restore their bacterial

population after radio-

or chemotherapy.

Brands of organic and non-organic milk were tested for the ability to

inhibit bacterial growth and

milk-fermenting activity in order to find the brand preferred by

beneficial lactic bacteria used in food

processing and in medical treatment.

Dr. Holcombe from UCI Medical Center let me (the student) work in the laboratory

and

use the lab equipment. Lab

personal taught me how to make dilutions. Mother helped to gather all

the materials. My science teacher

gave support and encouragement. "
