How do we know if we can advance with our foods?

We decided to start back at the beginning, thinking that we may have progressed

too

quickly. The only reason I think that is that it's been 5 weeks and my son

still can't

tolerate honey (or other salicylates). He gets very frustrated over nothing and

cries and

does a lot of explosions. He seems to be fine if we stick with a low-salicylate

diet, but as

soon as we give him honey or zucchini or too many bananas, he starts to act up.

(This is

the same as it has been for 2 years on the Feingold Diet--so nothing new, but we

thought

we'd see some improvement over 5 weeks.) It's hard doing this without honey.

Since we didn't have any digestive problems like loose bowels or anything, I

thought he

was digesting his food just fine, so we moved right to advanced foods like nuts,

brocolli

etc. He seemed to be doing okay ...

But, I've been reading more on this group and on the pecanbread website

(excellent, BTW)

and I'm wondering if we should go back to the stage 1 or 2 foods. What do you

all think?

And how do we know that we can more to the next stage of foods (in the absence

of

digestive issues)? Do you think we were okay, or should we go back and cut out

nuts and

nut butters?

Thanks,

Eileen
