Guest guest
I made some Mexican stir fry tonight with a sauce that claimed to be starch free. About an hour after dinner I started to have my doubts. I got the container and put a drop of iodine in the stuff and sure enough, it turned black instantly. : ( I'm so upset. We just ran out of enzymes too. I'm expecting our new batch with the mail on monday. I'm giving everyone goat yogurt for dessert, hoping that will help. What a drag. Guest guest
Well, I don't know how " smart " I am. Elaine Gottschall herself had to chant that in MY ear repeatedly until I got it. She kept saying " Why can't people just realise that it's EASIER in the long run to make your own?!? " I finally saw what she meant....that it might *seem* harder up front, but if it saves you from a setback, caused by some sneaky little bit of illegal, the time spent was worth it. Peace of mind is priceless. Patti Re: oh rats hmmm you're smart. I think I finally got the message. Of course you can choose complicated ones with tons of ingredents and steps to mimic some conventional gourmet recipe but do kids really care about that? In the case of those seeking flour from legumes, beans are starchy to begin with. Once you dehydrate them, they become even more concentrated. Is the texture and flavor worth the arduous task of making your own bean flour? Recipes that may be legal may also be difficult for most but the very advanced to digest. BTW: I have stopped SCD baking and my favorite dessert is yogurt with a spoonful of almond butter and some honey i and sometime the addition of fruit. i call it a Depth Charge:-) Carol F.
