Guest guest
I believe others have noted that acid reflux improves greatly on SCD. I know one family who's son was 19 yrs old when they started SCD.... has autism, seizures, and very severe reflux. The very first symptom that improved on SCD was the reflux. You might want to try the SCD Electrolyte Drink recipe on Elaine's website, www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info in the Knowledge Base under " E " . I know others have said that really helps with reflux... and it should help even if he's not currently on SCD. Patti Re: SCD diet and reflux........... Hi, My son is 9 yrs. old and we have been on the GFCFSF diet for years. At one point we did the SCD for 8 months and saw great results. My son now has acid reflux severly. I'm talking 30-45 mins of severe, severe pain. He is on some meds presently to help deal with the pain, but I'm wondering if anyone has pretty much cured acid-reflux by sticking with the SCD for a while. And if so, how long did it take for symptoms to subside? I know the food he eats can only contribute to reflux because he eats only acidic foods. I know he has a good deal of yeast just from the symptoms he has, and we are awaiting test results to confirm. I'm wondering if I should get him started with this diet, or wait until we knock some of the yeast down first. We are having him scoped Feb. 8th, but I don't want him on a bunch of meds if I can help heal this problem using diet and other natural alternative methods. Any advice would be much appreciated. Guest guest
I can't answer your question about acid reflux, but SCD does great things for controlling yeast issues. I would imagine that it would help with the reflux if you stuck with less acidic foods on the diet. Meleah Re: SCD diet and reflux........... Guest guest
My dd had acid reflux with increased eosinophils in her esophagus also a bit irritated, swollen & sore I'm sure. She would throw up when she was laying down. She no longer has these problems. Jenn & K 20 months SCD Re: SCD diet and reflux...........
