I am good to go.> Karyn, That's very interesting about the Pancreatin enzymes by Solgar. All the antioxidants that I use for my antioxidant therapy are made by Solgar. I like their products, because they are free of corn, yeast, wheat, soy and dairy products, as well as artificial dyes or preservatives. I've found that these fillers can cause stomach irritation and that some people have allergic reactions to some of them. It was a surprise to me that the Pancreatin that you mentioned has similar quantities of the lipase, amylase and protease that some prescription enzymes do. I imagine, though, that the Solgar enzymes are much less expensive than those available only by prescription. I don't know what the real cost of my Viokase enzymes is, since I only pay a copay of $35.00 through my insurance, but I remember when I was taking the Ultrase brand, a two week prescription was around $260!! My pharmacist and I were joking about it, saying that a month's script was more than my monthly car payment.....and wasn't I fortunate that insurance paid for them? So the OTC cost of the Solgar Pancreatin could be a great savings for some people, especially those who don't have prescription drug insurance. I would consider using them myself, but unfortunately my insurance won't pay for OTC products. It's a shame, because in this instance, it would save them a lot of money if they did! Thanks for sharing that information, it may be very helpful for some who are looking for an affordable alternative. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. At only $15.00 per bottle of 100 capsules, I would end up saving money, since my copay each month for the Viokase is $60, plus another $30 each month for Protonix,(a proton pump inhibitor), which is what I have to take to reduce my stomach acid when I'm taking Viokase. So overall, I'd be saving myself a minimum of $60!!! That's definitely worth giving them a try, don't you think? Thanks again!! With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
