Guest guest
Kristie, I don't make lemonade, so I can't give all the proportions; I'll leave that to someone who does make it. But, assuming you don't have something fancier to get the juice out of lemons, you first need to go to the housewares department of Wal-Mart or a housewares store and look for something like this: http://bridgekitchenware.com/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=2438 Sometimes they are made of plastic or glass and they can certainly be cheaper than the one at this link. I just wanted you to be able to see what you are looking for. Then rinse your lemons and cut them in half. Put the lemon half onto the dome and turn and turn and turn back and forth(while pushing) so that you get out all the juice you can. Then use a tea stainer (small fine strainer) to strain out seeds and pulp. One lemon can give you anywhere from 2 to 4 tablespoons of juice. They are not all the same size. :-) Here's another type of lemon squeezer, but I've never used this kind: http://www.presentsforyou.com/lelisq.html Good luck! , mom to > > Please post an actual lemonade recipe. Guest guest
Pampered Chef makes a device that peals, cores, and slices apples into rings all at one time. My mom has had it for years, and loves it. Also, a food mill is great. When I make applesauce, pearsauce, or anything like that I use it. I just halve my apple, throw them in the pot with a bit of water, and cook until soft. Then, I put them through the fooid mill with the finest holes. It purees it into sauce while keeping the pealing and seeds out. You can get one at any kitchen shop, on Amazon, ect.
