Guest guest
Hello, I had Le fort one and two bimaxillary osteotomies, rhinoplasty and cheek bone surgery May 6th. About 3 weeks after my surgery I started getting the feeling back in my face but it was very, very painfull. Then about 4 weeks ago my face went numb again and feels cold. I have been fighting a loosing battle with an infection for the past 10 weeks and I am waiting for an MRI scan to determine what's going on. I am hoping to return to work next week I have been off work 16 weeks as I was off for a week before the surgery for the pre-op appts etc. I too have been off work due to the pain and discomfort and I get occassional dizzy spells and I get tired very easily and not to mention the numerous hospital stays. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
All questions are welcome here, in my experience... But also, in my experience, you're asking the wrong folks. Talk with your surgeon about both of these issues. With regard to the " how long? " question, that's a highly individualized thing, but he may be able to give you some clues from his experiences. As for the pain, he also may be able to relieve that. Best I can remember, a bit after I had the surgery I developed some pain in the lower jaw. (I was neither wired nor banded.) When I complained, my surgeon examined me, then applied two fairly potent elastics, saying, " Let's give it some support, then. " The pain was gone within 15 minutes. It was amazing. My questions are 1)how long did it > take for the numbness to go away for people and 2) how long did people > have to stay out from work. Guest guest
Sorry about this, but I lost the chocolate recipe that was just posted (the one with the Taster's Choice packet). If anyone has it could they post it again? Also, Carol I know you have done this in the past, but when you get a chance could you list the goat's cheeses that you know are legal (ei types and/or brands)? I have the website you recently sent, but I couldn't find that brand at Whole Foods. Thanks so much. Sue SCD 8 mths, CC 25 yrs
