<<one more thing for me to worry about.

I had 2 really good days...now I'm a bit depressed..Oh well...>>

Oops... sorry, Cathy! It's always something, isn't it??

For what it's worth, I can't afford organic chicken very often either. I try

not to think about it too much.

Don't be depressed. I would definitely try to cut back on the amount of meat

that you eat in order to buy grassfed meats. That's what we did. We only eat

meat once a day...sometimes not even every day. We always eat some sort of egg

for breakfast...don't remember if you guys can do eggs...and a fruit. For lunch

it is some sort of dairy product...which I know you can't do...a veggie, and a

fruit...or sometimes a baked good instead of the dairy. For supper, it is a

meat, a veggie, and sometimes a fruit. If i forgot to thaw meat...which happens

fairly frequently these days...then we do a baked good or dairy product like

cheese or yogurt. We did eat a lot of meat when we were dairy and egg free in

the early months of SCD. Then, we backed off a bit when we started the yogurt.

In late summer, we switched to grassfed meats. My son can handle eggs now, too,

so that makes it so much easier. If you must do dairy and egg free, then I'd

give large fruit and veggie servings. Granted, vegetarians do have the grains

at their disposal, but you can still make filling meals without them...just

fruits and veggies and an occassional meat. I'd also check into getting the

meat from a farm where you know the animals are grassfed. I've been doing some

reading on organic and free range restrictions, and they're not as great as you

might think. You can look for sources in your area...or farms that will ship,

which is what we have to do...at

Oh, no.... you didn't offend me. I just sort of chuckled to myself when I read

your post, because I know exactly what you're feeling.... I think. :)

We've all been there. Seems like everything we eat these days has a down side.

Anyway, no offense taken here. And feel free to whine away...

this is a good place to do it. :)

hugs,

Patti

Re: Glutamate and SCD yogurt?

Patti,

I'm sorry I'm an idiot when it comes to words.(I sincerely mean this)

I'm just kidding about the depressed thing....I don't want simpathy,

or anyone to feel sorry for me...most you mom's have been through a

lot more than I have. I apprecicate the info. on the chicken...and I

imagine lots a people are in the same situation with food costing a lot.

Yes I do worry a lot...I'm working on that. I sound pretty winey...

don't I? I should think more before I post, I always use the wrong

words...Sorry for offending you...I know I done this before...
