Guest guest
Just wanted to report that Cade graduated from his second DOC Band today. He made great strides over the past 11 weeks. He started band #2 at 9 months and he's just over 11 months now. He's had more growth in the past 3 weeks than in the previous weeks he was in the band (8mm) - so things changed a lot in these past 3 weeks. We started band #1 at 17mm and graduated today at 5mm (cranial vault asymmetry). I've read many posts and questions about ear misalignment -- and whether that corrects or not. We were excited to see this go from 8mm asymmetry to 0mm. His mid-face asymmetry went from 10mm to 0mm. We're very pleased with how everything looks today. I'm especially thankful for the advice I got here when we were contemplating a second band. There were several of you who looked at his pictures and gave feedback. It took me a few weeks to wrap my arms around the idea of continuing on, but we are very glad we did. When we looked at the DSI scan today of where we started in band #2 compared to where we finished today, it was remarkable. And we thought his head looked pretty good after his first graduation! Many thanks for all the great support we've gotten along the way. Jill Cade's mom (11mo. DOC Band#2 9.29.09 - 12.11.09) Austin, TX
Guest guest
What a great day! I'm glad to hear that the ear misalignment improved, as that's one of our big concerns with . You will always feel good looking back and knowing that you did everything you could for Cade...and got great results! > > Just wanted to report that Cade graduated from his second DOC Band today. Guest guest
Thanks, . I was thinking about you and when Cade did his final DSI scan yesterday. When we did the scan a few months ago, he hated it...really, really made him upset (when they put the little stocking cap over his face). Anyway, that particular day he was a little bit late for his bottle and hadn't had a nap. So, this time around, I made sure he had a full belly and a nap first...before our DSI appointment. And I took a small extra bottle and his favorite lovey to settle him...just in case he got as upset as he did the last time we did it. That worked great and the process didn't phase him a bit. Anyway, just something to consider as you prepare for your visit to CT next week...if you end up doing the scan at that time! Jill
